About the building

Tate Britain began when Henry Tate donated his 65 paintings and £150,000 to build a large gallery dedicated to British art. The gallery features an impressive collection by Constable, Blake and J.M.W Turner, who generously bequeathed all his own collection to the nation. Perhaps even more delightful is the exquisite staircase by Caruso St John Architects.

About the artist

Virginia Duran is an architect and urban planner from Madrid, Spain. Her profession as an architect and her passion for art remain inextricably entwined. As a result, her primary interest within art is space and its relationship to people.
