About the building
Since its humble beginnings in the 15th century, Brick Lane has evolved to be a huge multicultural epicentre. Evidence of this is the famous Sunday Market, which began around the 19th century, when a special dispensation was given to the Jewish as their Sabbath was on Saturday and not on Sunday like the Christians.
